  City Light Community Ministries is a ministry of First Baptist Church - Abilene, Texas. City Light seeks to spread the love and power of Jesus Christ by serving, teaching, and connecting with the various groups common to the downtown Abilene area. Much of our focus is on families, children, and teenagers. Look around to find out more. ° What's New: New Ministry Brings People Together The City Light sack lunch ministry has been an essential method in meeting those less fortunate on a daily basis. But as the new year began, City Light, with the help of Sunday School classes from First Baptist Church, decided to bring more to these encounters by offering a hot lunch every Thursday. By offering a good meal and serving the attendees graciously, the Sunday School class has an opportunity to share a word from God and even sing a few songs. After five months, the results have been good and not just from those eating the meal. The Adult Two Men's Sunday School class prepared the meals in January and enjoyed getting to know new people and serving their fellow man. Each month a new Sunday School class volunteered to serve the hot lunches. It is a great opportunity to expand City Light's ministry and bring divergent people groups together.
